Beta testing

There are many directories out there for makers, many of them focus on Makerspaces. We wanted to give people the ability to provide their information to allow makers to connect when they need help with getting their design or thought into physical form with a laser cutter or 3D printer which not every maker has at their shop or home. We wanted people to be able to find each other, maybe make a little money (or a lot), in areas that may not have a Makerspace close by or when someone just wants a quick job done. There are post on boards and tweets when people are looking or have a machine to use almost every day, so we thought that a persistent place for this information would be helpful.

We would like to have the information for the public schools or universities where the machines are available and open for use as well as private machines that the owners would like to make known in an area. Since this is a Beta test of the locator service, it will be free for the testing. We would like feedback on the setup of the locator, what works, what doesn't, and how it can be improved in general. We would ask that you do not put an explicit address in the listing at this time, just an area to keep people from showing up at your door unexpectedly or while you are not available.

We believe that this should be a solution for people to find and provide services that are currently available, but not easy to always find. Add a listing then give us feedback!
